In this lesson, you will learn what skills, knowledge and mindset you need to have, so that you can address any shortcomings.
We will explore:
- What the core skills and knowledge are and how to learn and develop those
- How to move from an executive to a non-executive role
- How to develop a mindset fit for the boardroom
After this module you will know what skills, knowledge and mindset you need to have to be effective in the boardroom and also identify any gaps and set development goals for yourself.
MODULE 3
Deep Dive
How do you distinguish yourself from other potential candidates? What is it that makes you unique?
The secret to get people interested in your profile is when you share what it is that really motivates and drives you. It is the combination of your personality and your knowledge and experience that makes you unique.
You will learn:
- To identify your values and beliefs - Your life's compass
- How you begin to unravel your purpose - Your WHY?
- How to develop and nurture a wise and strategic mindset - The essence of the NED role
You will finish this lesson understanding more what it is that you care about and have a passion for. Which will form the essence of your brand and 'voice'.
MODULE 4
The Pitch
How do you convince a board that you are the only person that is perfect for that role you are so keen to secure? How do you create a pitch that grabs their attention and make you stand out?
It is in this module that we put all the pieces together and start unravelling your ‘story’. Communicating the essence of you and why you are unique for the role is fundamental to securing your first appointment.
You will learn how to:
- Identify the audience you are pitching to
- Uncover your unique story
- Build your brand identity
You will finish this course knowing how to bring all the pieces together in your compelling pitch. From that you can start building your brand identity, or your voice, so that you become known for what it is that makes you unique.
MODULE 5
Launch
You can have the best story in the world, but if no one knows about it, they won’t find you. It is all about marketing, spreading the message and getting yourself out there.
You will learn how to:
- Create your marketing material - CV, BIO and LinkedIn
- Market yourself - Where to find the roles and build networks
- Build an action plan of things you need to continuously do to secure that first role
You will finish this course with a profile, pitch and marketing collateral, knowing how to get in front of the right opportunities and an action plan to keep up the momentum to land that first appointment.
